南昌Halloween Party 万圣节晚会

　　The next major event of the NCIS school year is quickly approaching: the annual NSIC Halloween party! However, we aren’t the only people in Nanchang getting ready for this day. Apparently Halloween is becoming quite a popular day in China, as there are many public and private parties planned for the evening of Friday, October 31st. In an effort to help parents attend these evening functions, the school has altered its Halloween format; we have decided to hold our Halloween event during the school day instead of in the evening.

　　南昌国际学校下一重大活动即将临近：那就是一年一度的万圣节晚会!然而，在南昌我们并不是唯一为这天准备的人。显然，万圣节在中国正成为相当受欢迎的一天，因为有许多公众和私人派对都计划安排在10月31号星期五晚上。为了帮助家长们能参加这些晚会活动，学校更改了万圣节安排。我们决定白天在学校举办我们的万圣节活动，而不是晚上。

　　What does NCIS have planned for that day? With the help of the PTA, the school is hoping to create a very scary and wonderful day! First, the children are invited to come to school dressed in their Halloween costumes (if they don’t have a Halloween costume, we still expect them to wear their school uniform). In the morning, the primary teachers are planning special Halloween themed learning activities for their classes while the middle school students carry on with their normal school day. At lunch, we have a special spooky menu planned. After lunch, the primary students will travel to the fourth floor to explore our haunted hallway, and participate in special games and activities. At 2:30p.m., instead of the Friday sports afternoon, all the students will gather on the fourth floor to find out who has the best Halloween costume. Towards the end of the day, the students will make their way down through theschool “trick or treating” on their way to the bus.

　　南昌国际学校那天是怎么安排的呢?在家委会的帮助下，学校希望能创办一个非常惊恐精彩的节日。首先，孩子们会被邀请穿着万圣节服装来学校(如果没有万圣节服装，我们仍希望他们能穿校服)。早上，小学老师会为他们班设定专门万圣节特定主题的学习活动;以此同时，中学学生就继续他们的日常学习。中午，我们会有专门的惊悚菜肴。午餐后，小学学生会去四楼的闹鬼走廊探险，参加一些特殊游戏和活动。2:30后，所有学生不上体育课，会去四楼集合，找出谁穿了最好的万圣节服装。最后，学生们会用他们自己的方式走过学校的“不给糖就捣蛋”的通道上校车。

　　The families of NCIS have also been offered another possibility for the evening of Friday, October 31st. Dynamic English World, an English language training center for children aged 7 to 14, have invited NCIS students to a special Halloween party. They would like eight (8) of our students, plus their families, to join them at the Pizza Hut at Shi Mao Mall for games, treats and the chance to make your own pizza. The party will take place from 6:30p.m. until 8:00 p.m. You are expected to attend in costume. There is no cost to attend the function although I would imagine your child would be expected to mix with the school’s students during the event. If you are interested, please let Gracie know in the office as soon as possible. Remember, there is only room for the first eight (8) students from NCIS.

　　南昌国际学校家庭们还有另一个可能在10月31日周五晚上的活动。动态英语世界，一个为7至14岁小朋友设立的英语训练中心，已经邀请南昌国际学校学生参加专门的万圣节晚会。他们想要8名学生外加他们的家庭加入他们，在世贸广场的披萨小屋做游戏、做客，制作自己的披萨。晚会时间为晚上6:30-8:00。希望你们穿上万圣节服装。参加这一聚会不收取费用，但我料想你的孩子很期待和他们学校学生在活动中交往。如果感兴趣，请尽快与办公室Gracie联系。请记住，南昌国际学校只有8名学生的名额。

　　With these opportunities and many others advertised throughout Nanchang, the last week in October is looking to be a very busy one. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Halloween weekend.
